New York spot gold fell $3.90 to $2,157.70 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 1.43 points to 550.90 while the TSX gold index rose 0.11 point to 274.93. Most Canadian gold miners edged higher today. First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (FM) was among those with more energetic gains, as it added 95 cents to $15.01 on 11.71 million shares. Some lost ground, including Artemis Gold Inc. (ARTG), which slipped 21 cents to $7.62 on 461,000 shares.
Chris Lodder's Osisko Development Corp. (ODV) slid 29 cents to $3.09 on 298,000 shares on an updated resource estimate for its Trixie deposit, at Tintic in central Utah. The company lists 245,000 tonnes measured and indicated at 19.11 grams of gold and 60.8 grams of silver per tonne plus 202,000 tonnes inferred at 7.8 grams of gold and 48.6 grams of silver per tonne. In all, Trixie hosts 201,000 ounces of gold and 793,000 ounces of silver.
