New York spot gold rose $27.10 to $2,184.10 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange added 6.6 points to 549.88 while the TSX gold index rose 8.13 points to 276.81. Most TSX gold miners moved higher. McEwen Mining Inc. (MUX) helped lead the way, as it rose 75 cents to $12.12 on 103,000 shares. Dundee Corp. (DC.A) was a laggard, as it fell 14 cents to $1.03 on 254,000 shares.
Aurelien Bonneviot's Robex Resources Inc. (RBX) rose 3.5 cents to 15 cents on 736,000 shares -- but that was just a rebound from the company's 15.5-cent drop on 3.6 million shares over the previous two days. The halving of Robex's stock was triggered by word midday Monday that the company was revising its schedule for the Kiniero project in Guinea. The bottom line is the first gold pour is now slated for December. Previously, the pour was scheduled for mid-2024, according to a mid-2023 feasibility study.
