New York spot gold fell again today, dropping $48.60 to $2,329.40. The TSX Venture Exchange moved lower as well, dropping 9.49 points to 601.83 while the TSX gold index dropped 6.06 points to 322.20. Most precious metals miners listed in Canada fell again today. New Found Gold Corp. (NFG), uncustomarily silent about its Queensway project in north-central Newfoundland for the past five weeks -- yes, it has been that long -- lost 17 cents to $4.92 on 254,000 shares today. Another market straggler was New Gold Inc. (NGD), which lost nine cents to $2.59 on 3.32 million shares.
Corwin Coe's Sitka Gold Corp. (SIG) lost one-half cent to 20.5 cents on 743,000 shares on word it has drilled a 154-metre interval averaging 1.47 grams of gold per tonne at depth in an area just south of the resource defined at Blackjack on its RC project, east of Dawson City in Yukon. The encouraging hit occurred at the base of a 351-metre interval that ran 0.85 gram of gold per tonne.
