New York spot gold added $7.10 on Tuesday, closing at $2,357.80. The TSX Venture Exchange edged upward, adding 4.62 points to 611.03, while the TSX gold index gained 3.23 points to 330.81. Gatos Silver Inc. (GATO) was strong again today, as it added 59 cents to $16.84 on 38,000 shares. Dundee Corp. (DC.A) was also on the move, as it added eight cents to $1.30 on 25,000 shares. Atico Mining Corp. (ATY) did not fare as well, as it fell two cents to 22 cents on 87,000 shares.
Ari Sussman's Collective Mining Ltd. (CNL) jumped 21 cents to $4.38 on 162,000 shares. The company said late yesterday that it has drilled a 513.7-metre interval grading 1.5 grams of gold and 42 grams of silver per tonne plus 0.18 per cent copper at the Apollo porphyry target on its Guayabales property in Colombia. With faint whiffs as well of molybdenum and tungsten, the full metals smorgasbord sums to 2.2 grams of gold equivalent per tonne.
