New York spot gold fell $21.20 Tuesday, closing at $2,389.20. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 12.89 points to 542.67 while the TSX gold index dropped 9.65 points to 341.96. Most Canadian gold miners moved lower with bullion today. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) shed $1.55 to $22.42 on 716,000 shares while Wheaton Precious Metals Corp. (WPM) dropped $4.26 to $75.71 on 2.32 million shares. Dundee Precious Metals Inc. (DPM) bucked the trend, adding 22 cents to $11.90 on 1.19 million shares.

David Greenway's Giant Mining Corp. (BFG) lost three cents to 55 cents on 1,000 shares on word it has completed a drill hole at its Majuba Hill porphyry project in northwestern Nevada to nearly 250 metres. Drilling of a second hole is now under way. The company says that the core has been "quick-logged, sampled and tagged on site" -- the equivalent to a school boy flipping through a stack of sports trading cards, chanting "got him, got him, need him, got him ..." before returning for some follow-up dealing.
