New York spot gold leapt $47.80 Thursday, closing at $2,558.30. The TSX Venture Exchange added 9.69 points to 570.60 while the TSX gold index jumped 16.01 points to 371.13. Oh, where to start: Oceanagold Corp. (OGC) jumped 28 cents to $3.76 on 4.39 million shares and Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDV) added $1.77 to $30.63 on 1.18 million shares, while Gatos Silver Inc. (GATO) leapt $2.14 to $19.77 on 49,000 shares. Retreaters were few, although Robex Resources Inc. (RBX) did dip 10 cents to $2.60 on 18,000 shares.
Paul Matysek and Collin Kettell's Nevada King Gold Corp. (NKG) rose 2.5 cents to 34.5 cents on 220,000 shares after it acquired an option on the Silver Park property in east-central Nevada. No, this is not a change of focus nor is it a diversion -- Silver Park is a 24-hectare postage stamp on the envelope of the company's Atlanta gold project. To acquire it, Nevada King must pay $75,000 (U.S.) to the vendor, Ofor Silver LLC, before mid-2034. (It has already issued 100,000 shares to Ofor to acquire the option.)
