New York spot gold rose another $9.10 to close at $2,753.60 Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange added 3.88 points to 618.05 and the TSX gold index dipped 0.1 point to 372.47. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) was strong today as it added 31 cents to $35.30 on 861,000 shares. So was Dundee Precious Metals Inc. (DPM), which rose 40 cents to $14.52 on 650,000 shares. Capstone Copper Corp. (CS) on the other hand dropped 60 cents to $8.25 on 6.01 million shares.
Matthew Wilcox's Robex Resources Inc. (RBX) dipped to an early intraday low of $2.15 before ending the day down nine cents to $2.31 on 143,000 shares. The move was a buyer-driven attempt to get a market discount comparable with the one the company is offering to new buyers of its stock. Late Tuesday, Robex said that it was offering 14.63 million shares at $2.05 each, with the $30-million being sought destined for the company's Kiniero project in Guinea.
