New York spot gold slipped $2.20 to $3,045.10 on Thursday. The TSX Venture Exchange edged 2.35 points higher to 640.78 while the TSX gold index slipped 0.34 point to 446.81. Most gold miners with Canadian listings strayed little from Wednesday's close but as usual some had the wanderlust. Lundin Gold Corp. (LUG) dropped $1.49 to $42.68 on 811,000 shares while Avino Silver & Gold Mines Ltd. (ASM) managed a 17-cent gain to $2.71 on 1.12 million shares.
Bradley Langille's GoGold Resources Inc. (GGD) lost 12 cents to $1.84 on 12.06 million shares. Investors performed the buzz cut after word late yesterday that the company was selling 41.21 million shares at $1.82 apiece on a bought-deal basis. The cash from the $75-million sale is for development of the company's Los Ricos South project and exploration at both Los Ricos South and Los Ricos North. Some will also go to general corporate purposes.
