New York spot gold slid $87.70 to $3,335.60 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange slipped 8.42 points to 674.98 while the TSX gold index crashed a-bubble-has-burst 36.99 points to 451.83. With bullion and the gold index taking hits like that, northbound golds should be hard to find. They were not, although nearly all the gainers got a boost from copper. Hudbay Minerals Inc. (HBM) jumped 96 cents to $11.66 on 6.9 million shares while Capstone Copper Corp. (CS) rose 20 cents to $7.15 on 6.53 million shares.

The southbound routes were choked with refugees: Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV) fell $3.02 to $38.85 on 1.49 million shares while Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) fell a hefty $14.67 to $148.83 on 3.33 million shares. Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG) also reeled today, slumping $11.90 to $55.89 on 1.98 million shares. SSR Mining Inc. (SSRM) was another taking a bath, with a $1.38 drop to $14.79 on 899,000 shares.
