New York spot gold fell $15.50 Tuesday, nodding off for its one-hour break at $3,315.60. The TSX Venture Exchange shed 15.28 points to 773.80 while the TSX gold index flopped 12.84 points to 555.84. Canadian-listed gold miners moved lower today. Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA) led the retreat, with an 83-cent drop to $11.55 on 2.01 million shares. Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (USA) kept it company, dropping nine cents to $1.23 on 4.11 million shares.
Collin Kettell's Nevada King Gold Corp. (NKG) has drilled a 67-metre zone grading 0.55 gram of gold and 24.2 grams of silver per tonne in a 260-metre stepout hole in the Silver Park East area of its Atlanta gold project in east-central Nevada. This headline hit was a follow-up test to a hole drilled in spring that yielded three intervals averaging about 0.15 gram of gold and 30 grams of silver per tonne across a cumulative 92 metres.
