New York spot gold gained more altitude Wednesday, adding $40.10 to $4,625.40. The TSX Venture Exchange took a break from its northward march today, dipping 7.72 points to 1,090.33, but the TSX gold index rose another 2.7 points to 939.63. Ero Copper Corp. (ERO) had a good day, adding $1.08 to $42.50 on 1.59 million shares, and so did Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV), which gained 75 cents to $76.92 on 1.24 million shares. On the other hand, Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM), a big gainer yesterday, paused for air today, dipping $2.59 to $273.74 on 2.82 million shares.

Edward Gosselin's Kobo Resources Inc. (KRI) added 3.5 cents to 28 cents on 310,000 shares on word of new assays from the Jagger and Road Cut areas of its Kossou gold project in Ivory Coast. The latest results are from 15 new holes of Kobo's continuing drill program, covering both infill and expansion targets. The headline hit came in the Jagger area, where an eight-metre interval returned 3.02 grams of gold per tonne at depth. Two intercepts in the Road Cut zone also did well, with 2.59 grams per tonne and 2.55 grams per tonne reported across two six-metre intervals.
