New York spot gold regained $35.10 to $4,556.60 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 11.58 points to 978.77 while the TSX gold index added 1.11 points to 829.97. Most of Canada's precious metals miners moved higher with bullion today. Ero Copper Corp. (ERO) added $1.79 to $35.14 on 3.2 million shares and Allied Gold Corp. (AAUC) rose $1.56 to $40.06 on 1.98 million shares, both helping to drive the advance. Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR), on the other hand, fell 70 cents to $11.67 on 3.4 million shares today.

Frank Callaghan's Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (GCC) lost one-half cent to 8.5 cents on 351,000 shares on word it has drilled a 365-metre near-surface interval grading 0.41 gram of gold and 1.33 grams of silver per tonne at its Quesnelle project, near Hixon in central British Columbia. The latest hole, which the company cheers as extending the footprint of the Halo zone at Quesnelle to the north, includes a 22.9-metre subinterval at depth that ran 2.09 grams of gold and 1.75 grams of silver per tonne. As well, a near-surface subinterval that spanned 17.5 metres graded 1.93 grams of gold and 3.15 grams of silver per tonne.
