New York spot gold carried on today, adding $84.30 to end the week at $4,602.40. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 15.28 points to 988.37 while the TSX gold index added 30.08 points, ending the day at 1,010 points. Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) fell 51 cents to $14.62 on 2.1 million shares on word that there is no change in the impasse at its Terronera mine in Jalisco, Mexico.

A local ejido community -- a Mexican commune -- has been illegally blockading the Terronera operation for the past nine days, news that Endeavour got around to telling us about on Sunday. The news pared $1.34 from Endeavour's stock on Monday and Tuesday, but it made it all back -- and more -- with a $1.73 gain on Wednesday. Stay tuned: The company says it is "focused on reaching a constructive resolution that supports the orderly resumption of full operations."

Speaking of problems with the locals, Rudi Fronk's Seabridge Gold Inc. (SEA) slid $4.49 to $41.51 on 470,000 shares on word -- those tongue-limbering exercises are about to come in handy -- that "the Gitxsan government has called for meaningful consultation and collaboration with Tsetsaut Skii km La Hax" (TSKLH). In less encouraging words, Seabridge says that the Gitxsan government has withdrawn its 13-year-old letter supporting Seabridge's mammoth KSM project in northwestern British Columbia.
