New York spot gold fell $27.60 Wednesday, taking a break at $4,156.10. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 5.37 points to 881.93, while the TSX gold index lost 12.13 points to 885.37. Franco-Nevada Corp. (FNV) was all over the board today, soaring to $367, then falling to $311 before ending the day down $13.31 to $338.80 on 2.52 million shares. Artemis Gold Inc. (ARTG) was more persistent, adding 39 cents to end at $39.76 on 535,000 shares.
Steven Sirbovan's ICG Silver & Gold Ltd. (ICG) leapt six cents to 43 cents on 2.29 million shares today. ICG has drilled a 24.3-metre interval grading 10.14 grams of gold and 3.4 grams of silver per tonne at depth at the Battle Mountain target, on its Tuscarora project in Nevada. The best grades came in the upper 12 metres of the zone, and after slicing and dicing further, much of the precious metals sprang from a 1.5-metre stretch that ran 137 grams of gold and 25.7 grams of silver per tonne.
