New York spot gold fell $35.40 Friday, ending the week at $4,140.60. The TSX Venture Exchange added 1.79 points to 880.57, while the TSX gold index rose 9.88 points to 886.38. Meridian Mining PLC (MNO) led a healthy cadre of precious miners northward today, as it added seven cents to $2.40 on 1.77 million shares. Trekor Metals Inc. (TKO) -- a loser yesterday -- was a winner today, adding 87 cents to $12.76 on 1.7 million shares.
David Rae's DPM Metals Inc. (DPM), on the other hand, fell $1.75 to $55.41 on 5.37 million shares. DPM, a $64 stock at the end of September, tumbled $5.59 to $57.16 on 2.69 million shares Thursday on word that the constitutional court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has published its decision regarding a dispute between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina regarding who has authority to make decisions over forestry land. (Clear as mud? There are understandably unique clarity issues when dealing with countries having conjunctions in their name -- Canada simplified things greatly in 1867, when Upper Canada and Lower Canada renamed themselves Ontario and Quebec.)
