New York spot gold rose $23.70 by afternoon, pausing at $4,163.20. The TSX Venture Exchange added 11.54 points to 890.12 while the TSX gold index rose 6.26 points to 890.44. Most precious metals miners moved higher today, but DPM Metals Inc. (DPM) was not among them, as it fell $1.67 to $54.51 on 2.46 million shares. Kinross Gold Corp. (K), on the other hand, added 24 cents to $33.88 on 6.94 million shares.

There were some with greater gains, but those with the healthiest increases were prodded by news. Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TXG) added $3.47 to $73.26 on 1.35 million shares on word that it produced nearly 132,000 gold equivalent ounces in its third quarter, setting it on course to hit the midpoint of its 2026 guidance. Allied Gold Corp. (AAUC) added 46 cents to $28.74 on 1.38 million shares on word that continued exploration looks to yield increased resources at its Kurmuk mine in Ethiopia.
