The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Thursday was a mediocre 72-78-160 as the TSX Venture Exchange added two points to 608. Lithium Americas Corp. (LAC), up 82 cents on over six million shares yesterday, gave back five cents, closing at $4.47 on 6.69 million shares today. The moves follow word that General Motors is buying into the company's Thacker Pass lithium project in Nevada.

Glenn Kasner's RJK Explorations Ltd. (RJX) closed unchanged at 3.5 cents on 7,000 shares when it last traded yesterday. The company broke a long silence early this month with word it has expanded its Nipissing diamond project in Northeastern Ontario. Now, it is chasing cash to do some work. Mr. Kasner, chief executive officer, and Gino Chitaroni, president, say the company is offering 10 million shares at 3.5 cents apiece, seeking up to $350,000. Each share comes with a five-year warrant, exercisable at seven cents.

Insiders, RJK says, are expected to subscribe for 3.71 million of the shares, so the company is likely to raise $130,000 -- enough to keep its lights on and the telephones ringing -- the latter being important, assuming that the occasional investor is still bullish enough to enquire about RJK's all-but-dormant diamond play. The bulk of the cash, should RJK bring in the full amount, is for drilling of "potential kimberlite, base metal and precious metals targets."
