The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a weak 70-90-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange fell two points to 596. Trevor Walker's Frontier Lithium Inc. (FL) rose one-half cent to 47.5 cents on 289,000 shares. The company applauds that it has drilled high-grade lithium in its maiden drill hole on the Ember pegmatite, one kilometre northwest of its Spark deposit. (Spark, meanwhile, is a few kilometres northwest of the Pak deposit, the company's first find in the far northwestern corner of Ontario.)
The hit came in one of 10 new tests, nine of which do not count, as they were geotechnical or condemnation targets in the company's phase XIV program. (If you are among those who rarely give the Roman Empire a second thought, that translates to 14.) The one exploration hole returned an 18.8-metre near-surface zone averaging 1.43 per cent lithium oxide, accompanied by modest amounts of cesium oxide, tantalum oxide, niobium oxide, tin oxide and rubidium oxide. The hit was bolstered by a 7.8-metre midsection that averaged 2.54 per cent lithium oxide.
