The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was an upbeat 93-60-157 as the TSX Venture Exchange added eight points to 875. Adrian Smith's First Atlantic Nickel Corp. (FAN) lost one cent to 14 cents on 677,000 shares Wednesday on word that it has significantly expanded its "visible awaruite nickel-alloy mineralization" in the RPM zone of its Atlantic nickel project in Newfoundland.

Were it the question, the answer for most shareholders would probably be "no," as their shares traded for nearly 40 cents in spring. Despite the market reaction, this new hole expands the mineralized area 400 metres north of the RPM zone by up to 750 metres in width, a significant increase from the 500 metres noted in the first phase of drilling.
