The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score was an upbeat 97-75-138 on Wednesday as the TSX Venture Exchange added six points to 962. Ucore Rare Metals Inc. (UCU), a Nova Scotia-based junior that cheers it is "pioneering a domestic rare earth elements supply chain," rose nine cents to $2.65 on 2.15 million shares today. By domestic, Ucore means American, as it is focused on transitioning its proprietary process from its Ontario demonstration facility to a commercial production plant in Louisiana.

Kirill Klip's -- for now at least -- TNR Gold Corp. (TNR) lost one cent to 28 cents on 748,000 shares. Mr. Klip, the company's executive chairman, fired back with all guns blazing at a dissident group of shareholders led by Jon Evensen and his Eucalyptus Resources Opportunities Fund 1. They are major shareholders, holding over 33 million shares at last report. Mr. Klip is not far behind with 31.4 million shares, and Altius Minerals Corp. (ALS: $63.97), an apparent fellow traveller of Mr. Klip, holds 30.9 million shares. And so, the battle for control of TNR appears wide open, with the bulk of the shares held by others.
