The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a weak 64-106-150 as the TSX Venture Exchange added one point to 847. Alex Wylie's Libertystream Infrastructure Partners Inc. (LIB) lost two cents to 69 cents on 1.92 million shares.

The company cheers that it is chatting with seven potential customers about lithium to be produced at its Freedom Launchpad project in Texas. The seven would-be offtakers might buy as much as 8,500 tonnes of refined lithium carbonate per year, starting in 2028, in addition to the existing 600-tonne-per-year offtake arrangement the company currently has. That latter amount represents 60 per cent of the planned capacity of the planned Freedom 1 facility, so needless to say, there are plans for Freedom 2, and presumably other facilities in the works.

Mark Tory's Defense Metals Corp. (DEFN) fell one-half cent to 10 cents on 616,000 shares. The company has sold 39 million shares at 14 cents, raising $5.46-million in a first tranche of the company's offering of 42.86 million shares that it launched in late September. Defense says it expects to close a second and final tranche this week -- hopefully for most if not all of the remaining shares.
