The critical and specialty minerals stocks box score on a -- well, not black but definitely greyish -- Friday was a terrible 40-128-152 as the TSX Venture Exchange slid 23 points to 804. Jimmy Gravel's Slam Exploration Ltd. (SLAM), unchanged at 5.5 cents on 82,000 shares when last traded yesterday, has accepted a conditional offer for 40,000 wet tonnes of polymetallic ore from its A'Hearn project in northeastern New Brunswick. The material is still in the ground, mind you, and extracting it will require permitting and environmental approvals from the provincial government that have not yet been obtained. Hopefully the approvals come soon, as the company wants to extract the rock next spring.

The offer, from Ocean Partners USA Inc., "is an important step toward turning Slam's New Brunswick ore into revenue and showcasing the strength of our projects," enthused Mr. Gravel, president and chief executive officer. Ocean Partners is an experienced buyer of complex base metal material, he cheers, and the offer "provides a clear framework for pricing, payment and logistics, including the option to take delivery at a Canadian port," he added. The next step, Mr. Gravel says, is to deliver representative samples for testing by the receiving refinery, and he and his crew work with Ocean Partners to complete a definitive agreement.
