New York spot gold slipped another $2.40 Friday, closing at $2,562.30. The TSX Venture Exchange added 0.71 point to 591.22, while the TSX gold index lost 1.31 points to 339.54. Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA), an $18 stock earlier this month, slumped $2.95 to $14.75 yesterday because of reduced production guidance. Today, investors decided that they overreacted somewhat, as Aya rebounded 92 cents to $12.72 on 3.21 million shares. GoGold Resources Inc. (GGD) on the other hand fell six cents to $1.20 on 6.77 million shares.
Eldur Olafsson and Graham Stewart's soon-to-be Greenland gold miner, Amaroq Minerals Ltd. (AMRQ), rose four cents to $1.46 on 24,000 shares. The company is cheering "several significant agreements" connected with its expected start of production at the Nalunaq mine in southern Greenland. These agreements, the company applauds, "mark a significant step" as Amaroq prepares for its first gold pour late this year.
