New York spot gold moved lower Tuesday, dropping $8.40 to $3,114.60. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 2.11 points to 626.19 and the TSX gold index dipped 1.21 points to 456.59. A new wave of selling carried New Found Gold Corp. (NFG) still lower today, as it lost 14 cents to $1.59 on 1.51 million shares. Americas Gold & Silver Corp. (USA) was also down. It fell five cents to 72 cents on 2.05 million shares. Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (IVN) was strong, as it added 94 cents to $13.16 on 7.27 million shares.
Patrick Sheridan and Daniel Noone's G2 Goldfields Ltd. (GTWO) rose three cents to $3.25 on 817,000 shares on word it has drilled a 43-metre near-surface interval grading 1.9 grams of oxide gold per tonne in the new zone recently discovered at its Oko project in Guyana. Much of the gold sat within a 7.5-metre portion that averaged 7.9 grams per tonne, which left the remaining 35.5 metres with a more mundane 0.63 gram per tonne.
