New York spot gold moved lower on Thursday, dropping $16.10 to $3,356.60. The TSX Venture Exchange dipped 1.16 points to 718.27 while the TSX gold index fell 1.31 points to 503.63. Silver X Mining Corp. (AGX) helped lead the way northward, as it added 2.5 cents to 24.5 cents on 2.56 million shares. It had company, as Fortuna Mining Corp. (FVI) jumped 89 cents to $10.11 on 7.68 million shares and Endeavour Silver Corp. (EDR) rose 45 cents to $6.22 on 7.51 million shares.
Benoit La Salle's Aya Gold & Silver Inc. (AYA) ended May at $11.80 but has been on a tear in June, adding another 81 cents to $14.45 on 5.09 million shares today (and hitting an intraday high of $15.46.) Today's gain came with news -- the company cheered new assays from its Boumadine project in Morocco, hits that extend the Imariren trend by 400 metres and confirm high-grade continuity along the Boumadine Main trend.
