Is it news when it happens most every day? Yes, New York spot gold attained another record high Tuesday, topping $3,670, although it was down $4.80 to $3,630 when it paused for air in the afternoon. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 2.71 points to 861.22 while the TSX gold index dipped 1.89 points to 650.33. Ero Copper Corp. (ERO) jumped 65 cents to $21.81 on 892,000 shares in silence, while Lundin Gold Inc. (LUG), up early, ended the day down 71 cents to $93.67 on 3.03 million shares.
Brad Langille's GoGold Resources Inc. (GGD) lost three cents to $2.54 on 1.77 million shares on another batch of rich drill hits at Los Ricos South, in Jalisco, Mexico. The assays, from 14 near-mine exploration holes and eight geotechnical holes, produced several headline hits, led by a 21.25-metre intercept in a geotechnical hole in the Eagle zone that averaged 12.76 grams of gold and 2,077 grams of silver per tonne. Most of the precious metals came from a 1.42-metre subinterval with 173.55 grams of gold and 28,094 grams of silver per tonne.
