New York spot began the week with a $1.40 drop by late Monday afternoon, pausing at $4,138.50. The TSX Venture Exchange slipped 1.99 points to 878.58 while the TSX gold index fell 2.20 points to 884.18. Americas Gold and Silver Corp. (USA) added one cent to $6.31 on 1.65 million shares today, while Allied Gold Corp. (AAUC) dropped 40 cents to $28.28 on 912,000 shares.
Daniel Misiano's Dynacor Group Inc. (DNG) rose three cents to $5.06 on 211,000 shares on word that it has poured its first gold at its Galam pilot plant in Senegal. The processing plant is a 50-tonne-per-hour modular operation that Dynacor says will serve as a test for its expansion into Senegal, and perhaps other areas of Africa. The Galam site is in the heart of the main district with artisanal digs and other small-scale mines. If all goes well, Dynacor believes the plant is a precursor to a 300-tonne-per-hour commercial plant.
