Gogo AI Network Inc. is being sued in the Supreme Court of British Columbia over a finder's fee agreement from 2023, with a Vancouver man named Grant Markhart claiming that he is owed one million shares. According to Mr. Markhart, he was to receive the stock for his work on a deal that saw Gogo acquire the rights to an artificial intelligence platform. The company has since refused to issue the shares, Mr. Markhart claims.

The allegations are contained in a brief notice of claim that Mr. Markhart filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Wednesday, Feb. 11. The sole defendant is Gogo, which describes itself as "an investment issuer focused on identifying, investing in and supporting early-stage and growth-stage companies developing artificial intelligence, robotics and next-generation software technologies." The company began life as an oil and gas listing, switched to cannabis in 2017 and then moved on to AI in 2023.

Mr. Markhart's lawsuit arises from a transaction that Gogo executed upon its entrance into the AI business. According to the suit, the company signed a contract with Mr. Markhart on Nov. 8, 2023, in which it would issue him one million shares as part of Gogo's investment in a business called Limmi. The shares represented a finder's fee and were to be issued by April 16, 2025, the suit claims.
