The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Nov. 28, edition that National Bank Financial analyst Vishal Shreedhar has reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Alimentation Couche-Tard. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Shreedhar bumped his share target up by $2 to $87. Analysts on average target the shares at $88.64. Mr. Shreedhar described Couche-Tard's third quarter fiscal 2025 results as a "tepid performance," but he acknowledged that "management suggests green shoots are emerging." On Monday, Couche-Tard reported revenue of $17.4-billion, up from $16.4-billion a year ago, surpassing Mr. Shreedhar's estimate of $16.8-billion but below the $18.2-billion consensus. Earnings per share fell eight cents year-over-year to 74 cents, slightly above the analyst's projection but three cents under the Street's forecast. Mr. Shreedhar says in a note: "If Couche-Tard achieves its F2028 targets, upside remains. That said, recent lacklustre merchandising trends call into question its aggressive plans under its '10 For The Win' strategy. Perhaps this shortfall has motivated Couche-Tard to accelerate acquisitions. While green shoots appear to be emerging, we await better evidence of improved organic growth."
