The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Sept. 16, edition that TD Cowen analyst Vince Valentini is keeping his "buy" ranking for BCE intact. The Globe's David Leeder writes that Mr. Valentini hiked his share target by $3 to $40. Analysts on average target the shares at $36.96. Mr. Valentini says in a note: "As we expected, the Canada Infrastructure Summit led to some incremental data centre news for BCE. Unfortunately, the new project in Saskatchewan is not at the point where Bell AI Fabric has committed customer contracts and power commitments (unlike prior deals that were locked in before public disclosure). The prospects here look very encouraging in our view over the medium term, so we have increased our target price. ... BCE expects to have the full incremental 900 MW of DC capacity (taking the SK total to 1.2 GW) operational well within 10 years, and the first 150 MW could be quite soon as there are two additional pods (for six total) available at the Sherwood location. BCE also expects the ROE on this project to be similar to the 20-per-cent target on previously announced Sherwood phase one." The Globe reported Oct. 16 and July 3 that Mr. Valentini rated BCE "buy" when it was worth $33.28 and $30.27.
