The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday edition that RBC analyst Maurice Choy is keeping his "outperform" call for Brookfield Infrastructure Partners intact. The Globe's Darcy Keith writes that Mr. Choy boosted his unit target to $41 from $40 (all figures U.S.). Mr. Choy nudged up his unit target on Brookfield Infrastructure after its latest quarterly results and suggested investors may be underestimating the benefits artificial intelligence will have on the company. Mr. Choy says in a note: "We believe the market has yet to fully appreciate the many ways Brookfield can win, and deliver AI-related infrastructure growth without taking outsized risks. ... We like the tangible examples Brookfield shared in its annual letter to its unitholders relating to the strong demand across its portfolio in 2025, its materially expanded opportunity set, and its ability to deliver returns at 'high teens' (or more), which exceed its 12- to 15-per-cent target internal rate of return range. Importantly, while some investors continue to fear an AI bubble, we anticipate that BIP's risk-focused approach and investment guardrails will offer comfort on how Brookfield looks to safeguard its investment while delivering these strong returns."
