The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, Oct. 5, edition that TD Cowen analyst Vince Valentini continues to rate Corus Entertainment "sell." The Globe's David Leeder writes in the Eye On Equities column that Mr. Valentini slashed his share target by four cent to one cent. Analysts on average target the shares at $3.32. On Monday Corus announced a recapitalization plan. Mr. Valentini says in a note: "Corus's recapitalization event reduces their debt substantially to 3.36 times, but there is still very little left over for the equity value held by current shareholders. Almost the entirety of EV in the NewCo looks to be allocated to new debt instruments. Equity value in the NewCo may have some optionality if revenue/EBITDA improve, but we conclude that value for the current Corus merits a 'sell' rating." The Globe reported on Oct. 31, 2023, that Mr. Valentini had downgraded Corus Entertainment to "speculative buy" from "buy." The Class B shares could then be had for 64 cents. The Globe reported on Oct. 30, 20245, that RBC Dominion Securities analyst Drew McReynolds had reaffirmed his "sector perform" recommendation for Corus Entertainment. The shares could then be had for 9.5 cents.
