Forge Resources Corp., a junior miner with projects in the Yukon and Colombia, has filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia over a drill that was unexpectedly removed from its remote Alotta property. The company claims that a contractor relocated the drill, and that the contractor did so after agreeing to leave the machine in place. Forge says that it will now have to pay to find and install another drill at the site.
The allegations are contained in a brief notice of claim that Forge filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Sept. 10, 2024. The sole defendant is Full Force Diamond Drilling Ltd., a private entity with an address in Kelowna.
The case arises from drilling that Full Force was performing for Forge at the Alotta property in 2024. According to the suit, Forge entered into a contract on May 23, 2024, in which Full Force was to move one diamond drill to Alotta for a spring program. Upon completion of the program, the drill was to remain in place until the results came in, the suit claims. Forge says that this would allow for more work in the summer or fall.
