The Globe and Mail reports in its Tuesday, Nov. 3, edition that McEwen is an attractively valued minerals production and exploration company focused on precious and base minerals in Argentina, Mexico and the United States in a joint venture with Rio Tinto on the high-grade Tamarack nickel-copper-cobalt project in Minnesota. The Globe's guest columnist Brian Donovan writes in the Number Cruncher column that McEwen recently agreed to sell the Fuller and Paymaster properties and related surface rights for $55-million (U.S.) and monetized a $13.5-million (U.S.) McEwen Copper loan receivable for potential additional liquidity. The company has had production shortfalls at the Gold Bar mine and is working on financing requirements for its growth projects, specifically $4-billion (Canadian) for Los Azules. Our weighted model shows upside for this stock with analyst targets almost double the current price. The Globe reported on May 1, 2025, that National Bank Financial analyst Don DeMarco had commenced coverage on McEwen with an "outperform" recommendation, believing its flagship Los Azules copper project in San Juan, Argentina, "shows mega-rerate potential." The shares were then going for $10.65 (Canadian).
