TD makes moving money to a TD account faster and easier

Canada NewsWire

New TD app feature makes it easier to move money from another financial institution to TD

TORONTO, Oct. 29, 2026 /CNW/ -- TD has launched a new mobile app experience designed to make it faster and easier for clients to move money from another financial institution into their TD account.

Clients can start the process directly in the TD app, where they can select another financial institution and securely request a transfer into their TD account. Once the transfer request is accepted through the other financial institution, funds can appear in the client's TD account within seconds in most cases. The experience brings previously separate steps into a single, guided digital journey.

The launch builds on TD Digital Direct Deposit, introduced earlier this year, and together the two capabilities help simplify important steps involved in switching everyday banking to TD, from redirecting a paycheque to moving money to fund a TD account.

Key takeaways:

  • TD's new mobile app experience makes it easier for clients to fund an eligible TD account from another financial institution.
  • Together with TD Digital Direct Deposit, the new capability helps streamline two key parts of switching everyday banking to TD: moving a paycheque and moving money.

Making it easier to move everyday banking to TD

Opening a new account is often only the first step in establishing an everyday banking relationship. TD's new experience is designed to reduce friction associated with moving money into an account, helping new and existing clients move funds more quickly, securely, and with fewer steps.

Eligible clients can select the option in the TD app, choose their external financial institution and transfer amount, and complete the transfer through a guided process. This eliminates the need to add recipients or complete transfers through separate email-based workflows.

"At TD, we're focused on making everyday banking simpler and more convenient," said Aaron Clark, Senior Vice President, Everyday Banking, Saving and Investing. "This new experience makes it faster and easier to move money into a TD account, combining digital convenience with access to the personalized advice and support from TD colleagues that clients have come to expect from TD."

Building on TD's digital innovation journey

Earlier this year, TD launched TD Digital Direct Deposit, a Canadian first that lets clients set up or switch payroll deposits in the TD app in about a minute with most employers. Now, TD is among the first banks in Canada to use Interac e-Transfer Request Money technology to simplify another key part of everyday banking: moving money into a TD account.

Together, these experiences build on TD's digital innovation journey, using new capabilities to simplify key parts of everyday banking and create a more seamless experience for clients. TD was also recognized by J.D. Power earlier this year, ranking #1 in Customer Satisfaction with Mobile Banking Apps for 2026.
