ORIGINAL: Anortech Confirms Deep-Water Port Site at Gronne Bjerg Anorthosite Project, Greenland

2026-09-30 09:00 ET - News Release

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Sept. 30, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- AnorTech Inc. ("AnorTech" or the "Company") (TSX-V: ANOR; OTCQB: ANORF) is pleased to announce the completion of a bathymetric survey at its Gronne Bjerg anorthosite project in Greenland. The survey confirms that the Company's preferred location for a deep-water port is viable.

Survey Highlights

  • A minimum depth of 15 metres at low tide was measured within 20 metres of the shoreline at the preferred port location
  • This depth exceeds the approximate 12 to 14-metre draft typically required by Panamax-class bulk carriers (up to 80,000 DWT)
  • The survey covered 1.98 kilometres of shoreline out to a depth of 200 meters
  • The anorthosite body extends directly to the shoreline adjacent to the proposed port site

Survey Details

The survey was conducted over five days in September 2026 by Asiaq Greenland Survey ("Asiaq"). Asiaq is wholly owned by the Government of Greenland and has carried out survey work throughout Greenland for more than 60 years. The program covered a broad area of the coastline adjacent to the project so the Company could assess several potential port sites. The results confirm that the site AnorTech had identified as its preferred location has water depths suitable for large bulk carriers.

Management Commentary

Jim Cambon, President of AnorTech, commented: "The success of resource projects, particularly in the Arctic, depends heavily on logistics. Having a deep-water port directly next to the resource is a major advantage in keeping both infrastructure and operating costs low. The survey results demonstrate favourable water depths close to shore with the anorthosite body running right to the shoreline. These results support our project model of loading large-tonnage bulk carriers for the supply of feed material for smelter-grade alumina and high-purity alumina plants in North America and Europe utilizing our proprietary technology."

Next Steps

The data from this survey will be incorporated into the project’s Terms of Reference which are required together with environmental baseline studies and a resource model in order to submit an application for an exploitation licence.

AboutAnorTechInc.

AnorTech is pioneering the next generation of sustainable materials from anorthosite. The Company owns 100% of the Gronne Bjerg anorthosite project in Greenland – strategically located just 80 km northeast of Nuuk, the capital of Greenland, on open tidewater and adjacent to significant hydroelectric potential.

AnorTech is advancing multiple product lines towards commercialization, including:

  • Zero-waste Smelter Grade Alumina (SGA) and High Purity Alumina (HPA)
  • Next generation alumina-based catalysts for CO2 capture
  • CO2-free refractory cement and advanced 3D-printable cement
  • Lunar construction materials using anorthosite-based concrete

The Company filed a U.S. provisional patent in 2025 to protect its proprietary sustainable SGA and HPA process (see NR2025-01) and shipped 15 tonnes of Gronne Bjerg anorthosite to Ontario in preparation for pilot plant testing. AnorTech is actively pursuing strategic industry partnerships to accelerate commercialization of its alumina technologies. AnorTech has over C$3 million in working capital.
