Amerigo Resources to pay 21-cent performance dividend

2026-09-14 17:27 ET - News Release

Ms. Aurora Davidson reports

AMERIGO DECLARES CDN$0.21 PER SHARE PERFORMANCE DIVIDEND

Amerigo Resources Ltd.'s board of directors has declared a performance dividend in the amount of 21 cents per share, payable on Oct. 14, 2026, to shareholders of record on Sept. 21, 2026. Amerigo designates the entire amount of this taxable dividend to be an eligible dividend for purposes of the Income Tax Act (Canada), as amended from time to time. Dollar amounts in this news release are in United States dollars unless indicated otherwise.

"The board has declared Amerigo's third and largest performance dividend of 2026, reflecting solid year-to-date operational and financial results. The performance dividend is the flexible component of our capital return strategy. It allows us to return cash generated above the company's operating and strategic requirements while maintaining a strong, debt-free balance sheet through copper price cycles. This declaration reflects the discipline embedded in our capital return strategy: retain the capital the business requires and return excess cash to shareholders when it is earned," said Aurora Davidson, Amerigo's president and chief executive officer.

"With 55 cents per share in performance dividends declared year to date, Amerigo's quarterly dividends, totalling 16 cents annually, do not on their own reflect Amerigo's full capital return. Total yield, comprising quarterly dividends, performance dividends and share buybacks, provides a more complete measure. Based on Amerigo's most recent closing share price of $8.28 on Sept. 11, 2026, dividends declared in 2026 represent a yield of 8.6 per cent, before including the impact of the company's ongoing share buyback program," she added.

Since launching the capital return strategy (CRS) in October, 2021, Amerigo has returned $161.3-million to shareholders through dividends and buybacks. Upon payment of the quarterly dividend declared on July 27, 2026, and the performance dividend announced today, shareholder returns under the CRS will reach approximately $190.5-million.

Under the T plus one settlement cycle, Amerigo's shares will commence trading ex dividend at the opening of trading on Sept. 21, 2026. Shareholders purchasing Amerigo shares on or after the ex dividend date will not receive this dividend, as it will be paid to the selling shareholders. Shareholders purchasing Amerigo shares before the ex dividend date will receive the dividend.
