BLACKLINE SAFETY APPOINTS SIEMENS AND AMAZON AI EXECUTIVE, VASI PHILOMIN, TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Blackline Safety Corp. has appointed Vasi Philomin, executive vice-president, data and AI (artificial intelligence), at Siemens, to its board of directors. Previously, Mr. Philomin served as vice-president and general manager, generative AI, for Amazon.
A leading voice in enterprise AI adoption across many industries, Mr. Philomin brings deep expertise in industrial AI and IoT (Internet of things) platforms, with a proven record of commercializing innovations at global scale. His experience in scaling AI and hardware-enabled software-as-a-service (HeSaaS) platforms supports Blackline's focus on using connected data and AI to improve worker protection and productivity.

In his current role at Siemens, Mr. Philomin leads data and AI, where he is responsible for accelerating the development of the company's AI portfolio across industrial applications.
Previously, at Amazon, he spearheaded the creation of Amazon Bedrock, a platform that enables enterprises to rapidly build and scale generative AI applications. He also helped lead AWS's generative AI and product strategy efforts, including the development and deployment of foundation models via Bedrock.
Before Amazon, Mr. Philomin pioneered connected lighting solutions at Philips for municipalities and global landmarks, including the Empire State Building and the Bay Bridge. With more than 100 U.S. patents, he combines deep technical expertise with a proven ability to develop and commercialize innovations that deliver significant business impact.
Mr. Philomin holds a PhD in computer science and dual master's degrees in mechanical engineering and computer science from the University of Maryland.
