Cosa's Aurora optionee Traction drills 541 m

2026-10-19 18:50 ET - News Release

Mr. Keith Bodnarchuk reports

COSA ANNOUNCES PARTNER-FUNDED DRILLING RESULTS FROM THE AURORA URANIUM PROJECT, ATHABASCA BASIN, SASKATCHEWAN

Cosa Resources Corp. has released drilling results from the Aurora project. Aurora is located in the southeastern Athabasca basin approximately 16 kilometres east of Cameco's Key Lake mill and historical mine. Drilling was fully financed by Traction Uranium Corp. per the option agreement between Cosa and Traction dated Feb. 10, 2026. Traction has the right to earn an up-to-80-per-cent interest in the Aurora project by sole-financing $9.15-million in exploration expenditures and completing cash and share payments.

Highlights:

  • Drilling followed up two conductive anomalies located up ice from uranium-source radiometric anomalies.
  • Graphitic faulting, a common feature of Athabasca uranium deposits, intersected at both targets.
  • Drilling was fully financed by Traction as part of a multiyear earn-in; Cosa is the operator.

Andy Carmichael, vice-president, exploration, of Cosa, commented: "The first intersection of faulted graphitic basement at Aurora not only significantly enhances the project's prospectivity but also validates the use of modern geophysical techniques to identify new target areas. With one of several target areas now confirmed to host favourable geology in an exceptional location just 16 kilometres east of Cameco's Key Lake uranium mill, we look forward to advancing the project alongside Traction. Follow-up work is likely to include advanced target generation work and a larger drill program in 2027."

Core drilling program

Two drill holes totalling 541 metres were completed in the southern portion of Aurora. Drilling targeted two conductive anomalies in the A1 target area identified by a 2024 versatile time-domain electromagnetic survey and located up ice of uranium-source radiometric anomalies identified by an airborne gamma ray spectrometer survey financed by Traction in 2026.

Both drill holes intersected interpreted metasedimentary basement including graphitic units hosting intervals of brittle faulting with increased graphite content. AU26-01 also intersected granitic gneiss interpreted to overlie the metasedimentary unit, a common structural contrast often associated with uranium deposits in the eastern Athabasca. Neither drill hole intersected sandstone as both were located outside of the rim of the Athabasca basin. While significant hydrothermal alteration was not intersected, this is the first known intersection of faulted graphitic basement rocks at Aurora. This result significantly upgrades the prospectivity of the project and demonstrates the utility of modern geophysical coverage to better identify target areas.

Geochemical results are pending. Planning is under way for additional follow-up in 2027, which is likely to include additional target generation work and an expanded drill program.

About Aurora

Aurora covers a 17-kilometre length of the southeastern rim of the Athabasca basin located 16 kilometres east of Key Lake, the site of an operational uranium mill and past-producing uranium mine, and 40 kilometres southwest of the GMZ. Sandstone cover is less than 100 metres thick in the northern third of Aurora and absent in the rest. Airborne gravity gradient and versatile transient electromagnetic surveying completed by Cosa in 2024 identified initial target areas at Aurora. A property-wide high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey identified or upgraded multiple target areas in July, 2026.

About Cosa Resources Corp.

Cosa Resources is a Canadian uranium exploration company operating in Northern Saskatchewan. The portfolio comprises roughly 237,000 hectares across multiple underexplored 100-per-cent-owned and Cosa-operated joint venture projects in the Athabasca basin region, the majority of which reside within or adjacent to established uranium corridors.

In January of 2025, the company entered a transformative strategic collaboration with Denison Mines that has secured access to several additional highly prospective eastern Athabasca uranium exploration projects. As Cosa's largest shareholder, Denison gains exposure to Cosa's potential for exploration success and its pipeline of uranium projects.

Cosa's award-winning management team has a record of success in Saskatchewan. In 2022, members of the Cosa team were awarded the AME Colin Spence award for the discovery of the Hurricane uranium deposit. Cosa personnel led teams or had integral roles in the discovery of Denison's Gryphon deposit, and held key roles in the founding of both NexGen and IsoEnergy.

About Traction Uranium Corp.

Traction Uranium is in the business of mineral exploration and the development of discovery prospects in Canada, including its uranium project in the world-renowned Athabasca region.

Technical Disclosure

Historical drilling results from Aurora are available within the Saskatchewan mineral assessment database references 74H-0024, 74H07-0017 and 74H07-0031. Confirmatory relogging of these drill holes has not been completed as the core storage locations are unknown or have been destroyed by wildfire.
