Decade Commences Phase I Drilling at the Bonaparte Copper-Gold Property
Stewart, British Columbia -- (Newsfile Corp. - August 11 2026) -- Decade Resources Ltd. (TSXV: DEC) (OTC: DECXF) ("Decade" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Phase I diamond drilling has commenced at its Bonaparte copper-gold property, located approximately 50 km north of Kamloops, B.C., within the Kamloops Mining Division. The property consists of 4 mineral tenures (claims) totaling 4,149.63 hectares.
The first hole of the program, DDH 1, is collared to test directly beneath the Discovery Zone for porphyry copper-gold potential at depth. The Discovery Zone, located in the northwest corner of the claims, hosts a series of parallel and sub-parallel gold-bearing quartz veins within a mylonitic shear zone approximately 250 to 300 m wide, where multi-ounce gold assays have been intersected in historic drilling, trenching, and underground workings. Geologists with the British Columbia Geological Survey have previously speculated that the Bonaparte deposit may represent the upper level of a buried porphyry system (Logan and Mihalynuk, 2013). DDH 1 is designed to test this interpretation, targeting the strong chargeability (IP) anomaly interpreted to begin at approximately 300 m depth and to extend beyond 500 m, as outlined in a historic NI 43-101 technical report that was done for previous operators. The Company has not confirmed these results by believes that they can be relied on. The Phase I program contemplates 6 holes totaling a minimum of 3,000 m of NQ-sized core, using a drill capable of reaching depths of at least 500 m.
The Bonaparte property hosts several target styles, including:
Copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry potential at depth beneath the IP anomalies
A bulk-tonnage reduced intrusion-related gold system (RIRGS) target supported by high-grade gold results in historic drilling, trenching, and underground exploration
A high-grade gold-copper low sulphidation epithermal vein system
Ed Kruchkowski, President of Decade Resources, stated: "The start of drilling at Bonaparte marks a major milestone for the Company and the culmination of the compilation, sampling, and exploration work completed over the past year. DDH 1 is the first hole designed to test directly beneath the high-grade gold veins of the Discovery Zone for the porphyry source that geologists of the British Columbia Geological Survey speculated may lie at depth. The vertical extent of the vein system, the alteration observed at surface, and the strong chargeability anomaly beginning at approximately 300 m depth all point to a possible intrusive source below the historic workings. Testing this target with the drill is the logical next step for the property, and one that historic operators never carried out. The Company looks forward to reporting results as the program advances, along with the pending soil geochemistry results from the July survey over the southern part of the anomaly."
Surface Program Update
In late July, a contract sampling crew completed a soil sampling survey over the southern portion of the indicated IP anomaly, collecting over 750 soil samples and 30 rock samples. All samples have been submitted to MSA Laboratories in Langley, B.C. Results remain pending and will be released once received, compiled, and reviewed.
Historical Work
Historic work on the property includes a 1994 bulk sample of 3,700 metric tons of mineralized vein material from the Nutcracker, Owl, Grey Jay and Crow vein systems, taken from surface trenching to a vertical depth of 12.2 m, which averaged 25.4 g/t Au and produced 3,160 ounces of gold. A separate bulk sample of 364 tons from the Crow vein averaged 16.3 g/t Au, yielding 161.95 ounces. Readers are cautioned that these results are historical in nature. A Qualified Person has not done sufficient work to verify the historical sampling results, and the Company is not treating the historical results as current. They are referenced solely as an indication of the exploration potential of the property.
