GREAT PLAINS METALS ANNOUNCES PRIVATE PLACEMENT

Great Plains Metals Corp. has arranged a non-brokered private placement of up to 22,222,222 units of the company at a price of 18 cents per unit for gross proceeds of up to $4-million.

Each unit is composed of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant. Each warrant shall entitle the holder to purchase one common share of the company at a price of 28 cents at any time on or before the date which is 24 months from the date of closing of the private placement.

The company may pay finders' fees of 5 per cent in cash on some orders under the private placement as permitted by TSX Venture Exchange policy and applicable securities laws.

The proceeds will be used to advance the company's resource projects in Australia and for working capital purposes.

The private placement is subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval, and all securities issued will be subject to a four-month hold period.

The company also announces the grant of 300,000 incentive stock options to an officer of the company.

Each option is exercisable to acquire one common share of the company at a price of 20 cents per share for a period of five years from the date of grant. The stock option grant is subject to acceptance by the TSX Venture Exchange.
