GSP Resource applies for five-year permit for Alwin

2026-03-31 17:08 ET - News Release

Mr. Simon Dyakowski reports

GSP PLANS EXPANDED DRILL CAMPAIGN AND HIGHLIGHTS RECENT EXPLORATION SUCCESS AT THE COMBINED ALWIN-MER PROPERTIES, HIGHLAND VALLEY COPPER CAMP, BC

GSP Resource Corp. has submitted a new five-year multiyear area-based permit application to the B.C. Ministry of Mining and Critical Metals for the Alwin mine project.

The Alwin mine project is currently permitted for drilling activities through an existing Mines Act permit, and, upon approval, the new permit will allow for expanded drill testing of newly identified exploration targets throughout the property, in addition to already-permitted near-mine areas.

Throughout 2024 and 2025, the company executed multiphased exploration campaigns, including: surface rock and soil sampling, shortwave infrared (VIS-SWIR) hyperspectral TerraSpec analysis, NSAMT (natural-source audio frequency magnetotelluric) geophysical surveys and diamond drilling.

The exploration campaigns identified opportunities to expand existing mineral resources, and resulted in the discovery of new potential porphyry and high-grade copper-gold-silver vein targets. Highlights of the 2024 and 2025 Alwin mine project exploration include:

  • Discovery of new high-grade gold zone within drill hole AM-24-06 assaying 5.04 grams per tonne gold and 1.01 per cent copper over 7.90 metres, including 22.93 g/t gold and 1.82 per cent copper over 1.64 metres; the results point to the presence of a unique high-grade gold subset of mineralization at Alwin that is not yet well understood;
  • The results of the summer 2025 NSAMT survey identified an untested deep conductive anomaly within the northern portion of the Alwin property; the results could indicate a potential underlying porphyry source for the high-grade copper-gold-silver mineralization at Alwin;
  • Fall 2025 surface rock grab sample results highlight the high-grade Apex zone that yielded assays including 1.85 per cent copper, 348 grams per tonne silver and 2.6 g/t gold; in addition to the MER zone returning widespread moderate copper values. TerraSpec analysis of these samples yielded muscovite and chlorite compositions at MER indicative of a high-temperature proximal porphyry environment, and peripheral porphyry environment at Alwin supporting the potential for an undiscovered porphyry system;
  • Fall 2025 soil geochemical results expand surface copper zone at nearby Mer property and highlight near surface in-pit resource expansion potential at Alwin mine.
