High Tide Resources stakes 925 ha at Labrador West

2026-09-30 10:47 ET - News Release

Mr. Steve Roebuck reports

HIGH TIDE RESOURCES STAKES MORE GROUND AT LABRADOR WEST IRON PROJECT AS DRILLING CONCLUDES FOR 2026

High Tide Resources Corp. has completed the 2026 drilling campaign and staked an additional 925 hectares (37 claims) adjacent to its flagship and 100-per-cent-owned Labrador West iron ore project.

The project is located 20 kilometres northeast and adjacent to the Iron Ore Company of Canada's (IOC, majority owned by Rio Tinto) Carol Lake mine complex in Labrador City, Nfld. The Labrador West iron project's footprint is now 3,401 hectares in size.

Over the course of the summer drill campaign, the company completed 27 drill holes for a total of 6,335 metres of HQ and NQ core drilled. The company published two press releases on Aug. 31 and Sept. 16 disclosing assays from its drilling. Additional results will be disclosed when received.

Steve Roebuck, president and chief executive officer of High Tide, commented: "The summer drill campaign was completed safely and to a high technical standard, delivering strong geological data across the full program. We exceeded several operational targets, giving us a robust data set that materially advances our understanding of the system and positions us well to deliver an updated mineral resource estimate in the coming months. Based on encouraging results along the eastern boundary, we also expanded the project's footprint by staking additional ground to protect that flank while we continue to evaluate the extent of mineralization in that direction."

The company wishes to thank and acknowledge the entire team for a job well done, including:

  • Mercator Geological Services;
  • Mustang Helicopters;
  • Logan Drilling Group International.

Hydroelectric power, iron and the western Labrador Trough infrastructure advantage

On July 21, 2026, the governments of Newfoundland and Labrador, Quebec, and Canada jointly announced a new power generation and transmission agreement, under which the federal government committed over $1-billion to the construction of a Labrador West transmission line necessary to open new mining and other industrial projects in the Labrador Trough.

The Labrador Trough of western Labrador and adjoining Quebec constitutes Canada's primary iron-producing district and is host to world-class deposits that have been mined for more than half a century. These have produced over two billion tonnes of iron ore to date and are considered to have very significant growth potential. The high quality of the deposits in the region allows for a wide range in product diversity, which includes premium concentrate and pellets, both blast furnace and direct reduction grades.

The Labrador West iron project is strategically located near the mining communities of Wabush and Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador and Fermont, Que. The area is home to Champion Iron's Kami deposit and Bloom Lake mine, ArcelorMittal's Mont-Wright mine, Tacora Resources' Scully mine, and Rio Tinto IOC's Carol Lake mine.

The Wabush and Labrador City region is very well served with skilled labour and a highway as well as access to abundant low-cost hydroelectricity and a common carrier railway. The railway has 80 million tonnes per year of capacity for transport of iron products to the deepwater port of Sept-Iles, Que., which provides year-round access to global markets.

About High Tide Resources Corp.

High Tide is focused on and committed to the development of mineral projects critical to infrastructure development using industry best practices combined with a strong social licence from local communities. High Tide owns a 100-per-cent interest in the Labrador West iron project, which hosts a National Instrument 43-101 inferred mineral resource of 655 million tonnes at 28.84 per cent iron, as set out in the company's technical report dated April 6, 2023, and is located adjacent to IOC's Carol Lake mine in Labrador City, Nfld. This resource is exposed at surface and was pit constrained for an open-pit mining scenario. The technical report was filed on SEDAR+ on April 6, 2023, and was written by Ryan Kressall, MSc, PGeo, Matthew Herrington, MSc, PGeo, Catherine Pelletier, PEng, and Jeffrey Cassoff, PEng.

The company also owns a 100-per-cent interest in the Lac Pegma copper-nickel-cobalt deposit, located 50 kilometres southeast of Fermont, Que.
