Mr. Patrick Sommerville reports
HAMILTON ETFS CONFIRMS 2022 ANNUAL SPECIAL CASH DISTRIBUTIONS
Hamilton Capital Partners Inc. (Hamilton ETFs) confirmed today the annual special cash distributions for its suite of exchange-traded funds, all of which trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange, for the period ended Dec. 31, 2022. Please note, this is an update to the estimated special cash distributions previously announced on Dec. 20, 2022.
ETFs are required to distribute any net income and capital gains earned in the year. The special cash distributions will be paid in cash or, if the unitholder has enrolled in the dividend reinvestment plan (DRIP), reinvested in additional units of the ETFs. Note, the amounts below do not include the regular cash distributions announced on Dec. 20, 2022.
As noted and previously estimated, Hamilton ETFs confirmed that none of its ETFs will have an annual non-cash distribution for the 2022 tax year.
The record date for the special cash distributions is Dec. 30, 2022. The payment date for the special cash distributions will be Jan. 12, 2023. In early 2023, the tax characteristics of all distributions for 2022 for the ETFs will be reported to brokers via CDS.
