ICG SILVER & GOLD REPORTS SURFACE SAMPLING RESULTS FROM THE TJ PROSPECT AT THE TUSCARORA DISTRICT, NEVADA
ICG Silver & Gold Ltd. has released assay results from its initial surface sampling program at the newly acquired TJ prospect, located within the company's Tuscarora district project in Elko county, Nevada.
The TJ prospect comprises six recently staked unpatented mineral claims covering approximately 120 acres. A total of 39 rock samples were collected during initial geological reconnaissance and submitted for laboratory analysis. Sampling targeted silicified outcrops, hydrothermal breccias, intrusive contacts, structurally prepared zones, and areas displaying later-stage fracture and open-space infill. The anomalous surface footprint extends approximately 1.1 kilometres, based on the current sampling distribution.
Assay highlights from the initial sampling program include:
- 297.0 grams per tonne silver and 0.3 g/t gold from sample TAP2613;
- 218.0 g/t silver from sample TAP2625;
- 12.85 g/t silver and 1.88 g/t gold from sample TAP2619;
- 5.13 g/t silver and 2.58 g/t gold from sample TAP2628.
These results confirm the presence of gold-silver mineralization within the TJ prospect and provide additional pathfinder geochemistry that further supports the company's interpretation that the area represents a prospective epithermal hydrothermal system.
"Initial sampling at the TJ prospect has returned encouraging results from an area that had not previously been a focus of modern systematic exploration," said Korbon McCall, vice-president of exploration. "The association of strongly anomalous precious metals with hydrothermal brecciation, Eocene intrusive activity and older structural corridors provides a compelling foundation for continued work. These results will help us refine the geological model and prioritize the next phase of surface exploration located in the West zone."
TJ prospect geology
The principal mapped geological feature at the TJ prospect is a series of Eocene-age porphyritic rhyolite to rhyodacite dikes and related intrusive bodies, mapped regionally as units Tmr and Tmrf. These intrusive rocks crosscut Paleozoic sedimentary rocks and older thrust fault structures.
Regional mapping describes the Tmr unit as a crowded, coarsely porphyritic rhyolite to rhyodacite occurring within a broad dike swarm, with individual dikes locally reaching approximately 40 metres in width. Reported age determinations indicate that dike emplacement occurred approximately 39 million years ago. The Tmrf unit consists of finely porphyritic rhyolite occurring as discontinuous dikes and irregular intrusive bodies, interpreted to be part of the same broader Eocene intrusive event.
Company geologists observed several features considered encouraging for epithermal mineralization, including:
- Hydrothermal brecciation;
- Rounding and reworking of breccia fragments following initial brecciation;
- Silicification of host rocks and cockade textures;
- Later-stage silica and mineral infill within fractures, open spaces and breccia voids.
These textures indicate repeated episodes of structural preparation, brecciation and hydrothermal fluid circulation. The relationship between the Eocene intrusive rocks, Paleozoic sedimentary host rocks and older thrust structures provides a favourable geological framework for the development of epithermal gold-silver mineralization.
Initial sampling results
The 39 rock samples were collected from outcrop and subcrop exposures across the TJ prospect. Samples were selected to evaluate the geochemical response associated with mapped intrusive rocks, silicified sedimentary units, breccia bodies, structural contacts and zones of visible hydrothermal alteration.
Next steps
The company intends to integrate the assay results with detailed geological mapping, structural interpretation, alteration characterization and the distribution of the mapped intrusive units.
Planned follow-up work includes:
- Additional rock chip sampling to evaluate extensions of mineralized outcrops;
- Soil or other systematic geochemical surveys across areas of limited exposure;
- Review of available geophysical and remote sensing data; and
- Evaluation of the TJ prospect for future geophysical surveying and drill target development.
The current sampling remains reconnaissance in nature and does not establish the true width, continuity or orientation of mineralization.
Quality assurance and quality control
Samples are collected under the supervision of company personnel, securely sealed and transported under chain-of-custody procedures to ALS Global Laboratories in Elko, Nev., for sample preparation and analysis. ALS Global Laboratories is independent of the company.
Samples are prepared using the ALS method PREP-31Y, whereby the sample is crushed to a target of 70 per cent passing two millimetres, a 250-gram subsample is obtained using a rotary splitter and the split is pulverized to a target of 85 per cent passing 75 microns.
Gold is analyzed using Au-GRA21, consisting of a 30-gram fire assay with a gravimetric finish. Multielement analysis is completed using ME-MS61, a four-acid digestion with an ICP-MS finish that provides near-total recovery for a broad suite of elements.
The company's quality assurance and quality control program includes the regular insertion of certified reference materials, blanks and duplicate samples into the sample stream. Analytical results and laboratory quality control data are reviewed and validated by company personnel before public disclosure.
Rock sampling is selective by its nature, and results are not necessarily indicative of mineralization across the TJ prospect or elsewhere in the Tuscarora district.

Figures shown include historical data and data collected by the company. Historical sampling programs were conducted by various operators and may not meet current quality assurance/quality control standards as defined under National Instrument 43-101. The company has not verified all historical sampling data, and such information should be considered indicative only and will be used by the company to guide future exploration work. Any future work conducted by the company will incorporate industry standard QA/QC protocols.
