The Globe and Mail reports in its Thursday, Oct. 8, edition that one month into her new role as chief executive officer at Lululemon, Heidi O'Neill has started revamping the leadership as she aims to revitalize the struggling brand. The Globe's Susan Krashinsky Robertson writes that Lululemon announced a new leadership structure, introducing a president and chief product officer, and a chief operating officer, alongside two notable departures. Ms. O'Neill is tasked with revitalizing a brand that once dominated the fashionable workout clothes market but now faces competition from trendy athleisure brands and cheaper knockoffs. The new president and CPO, Maggie Gauger, was most recently president and CEO of Athleta, a Gap-owned athleisure brand that is among Lululemon's rivals. The new COO, Joseph Godsey, comes to Lululemon from Walmart Canada, where he was chief growth officer and led the company's e-commerce business. Prior to that, Mr. Godsey held leadership positions at Sam's Club and Adidas. Both executives will join the company on Oct. 26. At the same time, Lululemon announced the departures of chief brand and product activation officer Nikki Neuburger, and chief supply chain officer Ted Dagnese.
