MINILUXE ANNOUNCES CONNECTICUT DEBUT AT DARIEN'S TRANSFORMATIONAL CORBIN DISTRICT, OPENING EARLY 2027
Miniluxe Holding Corp.'s strategic growth partner Vera Vos-Lexmond has signed a lease for the brand's first Connecticut location within the Corbin district in downtown Darien. The studio is the first of multiple locations Vos Lexmond has committed to developing across Fairfield county, Connecticut, with an opening targeted for early 2027.
Developed by Baywater Properties on seven acres in the heart of downtown Darien, The Corbin district is reimagining the centre of town with top culinary talent, high-end boutiques, luxury residential units and office spaces arranged around a vibrant new town square. Among its confirmed tenants are consulting firm McKinsey & Co., Aon Financial Services, Yoga Spark, Barry's Bootcamp, Rhone, Millie's Restaurant from Nantucket, Connecticut's first Tatte Bakery & Cafe, and Corsica, a new restaurant from the team behind Barcelona Wine Bar. The Corbin district's development team has been highly selective in its leasing strategy, seeking out businesses that align with Darien and Fairfield county's lifestyle, demographics, and long-term growth. For developer David Genovese, Miniluxe represents exactly the kind of tenant that vision was designed to attract where experience, as much as convenience, matters.
Miniluxe was founded on the conviction that the nail salon industry was overdue for a fundamental reinvention and a purpose anchored in providing empowerment and joy to its team, clients and communities. Miniluxe's studios use only better-for-you, non-toxic products, maintain rigorous hygiene and sterilization protocols, and invest in training and fairly compensating the nail artists who deliver the experience. Since its founding, the company has paid more than $200-million in fair wages to its designers with over half holding equity options in the business.
"Miniluxe and the Corbin district share the same north star," said David Genovese, chief executive officer of Baywater Properties and developer of the Corbin district. "We are both committed to bringing something genuinely better to Darien. When we set out to build this district, our goal was to create a walkable, beautiful downtown destination with tenants that reflect the community's standards and aspirations. Miniluxe is exactly the kind of brand we had in mind, and we are proud to welcome them as part of what we are building here together."
The Darien announcement also marks a strategic milestone in Miniluxe's national franchise and joint venture (JV) expansion. With over 25 opened studios and strong inbound franchise interest since its program's launch, Miniluxe is building a model that scales without compromising the standards that make it distinctive. Connecticut, positioned as a natural bridge between Miniluxe's New England base and the New York metropolitan market, is expected to become one of the brand's most significant growth territories.
"Connecticut has always been central to our growth vision," said Tony Tjan, co-founder and chief executive officer of Miniluxe. "Fairfield County reflects the same customer sophistication and values-driven consumer that helped us build a loyal following across New England. Opening inside the Corbin district gives us the ideal platform to introduce Miniluxe to Connecticut in a setting that shares our commitment to quality, community and intentional design. We are building something much larger here, and Darien is where that next chapter begins."
"I fell in love with Miniluxe because it stands for everything I believe beauty should be," said Vera Vos-Lexmond, "high standards, real transparency and a genuine commitment to the people doing the work. Fairfield county is my home, and I wanted to bring a brand here that my community would be proud to have. The Corbin district is exactly the kind of environment where Miniluxe belongs, surrounded by great food, thoughtful retail and neighbours who care deeply about quality. I cannot wait to open our doors."
Miniluxe remains actively in conversation with prospective franchise partners across key metropolitan corridors and welcomes inquiries from qualified operators interested in joining its growing network. Consumers eager to be among the first to experience Miniluxe in Connecticut can follow updates at the Miniluxe website and on social media.
