ATLAS SALT APPOINTS MARK STEWART AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER, PROMOTES ROBERT BOOTH TO CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Effective Aug. 4, 2026, Atlas Salt Inc. has appointed Mark Stewart, CPA, CA, to the positions of chief financial officer and corporate secretary; the promotion and has appointed Robert Booth, PEng, PMP, to the position of chief operating officer; and has promoted Andrew Smith, PEng, ICDD, to the position of director of project strategy and execution.

Mark Stewart career highlights include:

  • 25-plus years of executive broad finance leadership across public mining and industrial companies;
  • Most recently served as director, enterprise FP&A, at Teck Resources, responsible for enterprise-wide planning, growth projects and board reporting;
  • Former finance executive with Yamana Gold, Barrick Gold and Aritzia supporting capital allocation, project evaluation, public company reporting and strategic transactions;
  • Led the financial integration of Yamana's $3.5-billion (U.S.) acquisition of Osisko Gold;
  • Operationalized the divestiture of Barrick's $3.6-billion African assets in an IPO (initial public offering) and listing on the London Stock Exchange;
  • Negotiated a $300-million corporate credit facility while maintaining pricing in a challenging financing environment;
  • Extensive experience in project finance, treasury, capital allocation, board reporting and corporate finance, supporting companies through development, financing and growth.

Mr. Booth has been promoted to chief operating officer in recognition of the outstanding leadership and technical expertise he has demonstrated since joining Atlas Salt. In his expanded role, Mr. Booth will oversee all aspects of engineering, project development, construction planning, operational readiness and site operations management as the company advances the Great Atlantic salt project toward production.

Mr. Smith has been promoted to director of project strategy and execution in recognition of the significant contributions he has made to the strategic planning and execution of the Great Atlantic salt project. In his new and expanded role, Mr. Smith will continue to lead the integration of project strategy, execution planning and cross-functional co-ordination. He will also take on greater responsibilities for refining the company's salt marketing and distribution strategies, helping ensure the successful delivery of one of North America's most significant mine development projects.

Compensation securities issued

The company also announces that it has issued compensation securities to certain officers, consultants and advisers of the company. A total of 250,000 restricted share units (RSUs) have been issued with 50,000 RSUs vesting on Aug. 4, 2027, 100,000 RSUs vesting on Aug. 4, 2028, and 100,000 RSUs vesting on Aug. 4, 2029. A total of 750,000 stock options have been granted, with an exercise price of $1.39 per share, with the following vesting and expiration schedule:

  • 50,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2029, vesting on Feb. 4, 2027;
  • 50,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2029, vesting on Aug. 4, 2027;
  • 200,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2029, vesting on Aug. 4, 2027;
  • 125,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2031, vesting on Aug. 4, 2027;
  • 200,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2029, vesting on Aug. 4, 2028;
  • 125,000 options expiring Aug. 4, 2031, vesting on Aug. 4, 2028.

The grant of the options and issuance of the RSUs is subject to the approval of the TSX Venture Exchange.
