Mr. James Deckelman reports
DEEP SEA MINERALS CORP. SUPPORTS EMERGING RESEARCHERS AT THE UNDERWATER MINERALS CONFERENCE IN JAPAN AS SILVER SPONSOR
Deep Sea Minerals Corp.'s silver sponsorship and support of emerging researchers at the 2026 Underwater Minerals Conference (UMC) in Toyama, Japan. The conference will take place from Nov. 8 to Nov. 13, 2026, at the Toyama International Conference Center.
Presented by the International Marine Minerals Society (IMMS) in partnership with the Japanese Local Committee, UMC brings together representatives from industry, government, and academia to exchange research and perspectives on marine mineral exploration, environmental assessment, technology and resource development. This year's theme is Marine Minerals: Fostering Science, Innovation, and Stewardship.
The company's participation will provide an opportunity to engage with the international marine minerals community, and discuss scientific and technical developments relevant to its intended exploration strategy, including environmental baseline research and approaches to responsible seabed mineral development.
Supporting emerging researchers
Through its sponsorship, Deep Sea Minerals is also supporting opportunities for two students and early career researchers to participate at UMC, contributing to knowledge sharing and the development of the next generation of marine minerals professionals.
"UMC provides an important opportunity to exchange ideas with researchers, technical specialists and industry participants working to advance our understanding of marine minerals," said James Deckelman, chief executive officer of Deep Sea Minerals. "We are pleased to participate as a silver sponsor and to support two emerging researchers to take part in discussions that will shape the future of this sector."
About Deep Sea Minerals Corp.
Deep Sea Minerals is a seabed mineral exploration and development company focused on evaluating opportunities to support the future supply of critical minerals through the acquisition, exploration and development of deep-sea mineral assets.
The company's strategy is centred on identifying jurisdictions and geological settings with potential exposure to polymetallic nodule systems, which are recognized for containing combinations of metals that may be relevant to defence, industrial manufacturing, clean energy infrastructure, advanced electronics and artificial intelligence-related supply chains. These seabed resources represent a largely undeveloped component of the global mineral supply base and are the subject of increasing policy, scientific and regulatory attention worldwide.
As part of this process, the company has commenced early-stage engagement with selected governments and regulatory bodies in the Pacific Ocean region to assess potential pathways for future exploration initiatives, subject to applicable international, national and environmental frameworks.
We seek Safe Harbor.
