Ms. Sophy Cesar reports
UPSIDE GOLD COMPLETES 6,563 METRES OF DIAMOND DRILLING AT KENA, EXCEEDING ORIGINAL 2026 PROGRAM BY 64%
Upside Gold Corp. has completed its expanded 2026 diamond drilling program at the Kena gold-copper project in southeastern British Columbia. The company completed 6,562.68 metres of diamond drilling across 24 holes, exceeding its original 4,000-metre program by approximately 64 per cent.
Following the initial phase of drilling, detailed core logging identified geological features that warranted additional follow-up. The company subsequently returned to the field to further test the South zone and Kena copper-gold zone, both located outside of the footprint of the 2021 historical mineral resource estimate along regional strike to the southeast.
The final phase of drilling was designed to further evaluate the orientation and geometry of mineralized trends identified during core logging. Modified drill orientations were used to better test sulphide mineralization and associated hydrothermal alteration interpreted to crosscut the regional host rock foliation.
"Completing more than 6,500 metres of drilling this year is a significant milestone for Upside," said Sophy Cesar, chief executive officer and director of Upside Gold. "We started the year with a 4,000-metre program and ultimately completed more drilling than originally planned, ahead of schedule and under budget. That's a testament to the hard work and efficiency of our exploration team, who did an exceptional job throughout the season. With drilling now complete, we're looking ahead to assay results and the updated resource estimate targeted for Q1 2027."
Trevor Boyd, PGeo, vice-president, exploration, of Upside Gold, added: "The 2026 drill and field program has provided an extensive geological data set across the Kena project. In addition to the original drill targets, the follow-up holes will help us assess the orientation and distribution of mineralization in areas beyond the historical resource footprint. Integrating the drilling information with assay results will be an important next step in evaluating these targets and planning future exploration."
Next steps
With drilling complete, the company's exploration team will focus on completing core logging, sampling and geological interpretation. Samples will continue to be submitted for laboratory analysis, and the company will provide further updates once the results have been received and evaluated.
Data from the 2026 program are expected to contribute to the updated mineral resource evaluation being undertaken by Moose Mountain Technical Services, subject to the receipt and validation of assay and quality assurance/quality control data. The updated National Instrument 43-101 mineral resource estimate remains targeted for first quarter 2027.
The company cautions that visual observations of mineralization in drill core are not a substitute for laboratory assay results and do not provide a reliable indication of grade.

About Upside Gold Corp.
Upside Gold is a Canadian gold-copper exploration company that has entered into an option agreement to acquire a 100-per-cent interest in the Kena gold-copper project, located in southeastern British Columbia, approximately seven kilometres southwest of Nelson. The Kena project consists of 207 mineral claims and 11 Crown grants covering 10,578 hectares.
The corporation is focused on advancing the Kena gold-copper project through systematic exploration and drilling programs.
The Kena project hosts a historical gold resource comprising an indicated mineral resource of 32,146,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.544 gram per tonne gold for 561,000 ounces of gold, and an inferred mineral resource of 177,507,000 tonnes at an average grade of 0.486 g/t Au for 2.77 million ounces of gold. The historical resource estimate is disclosed in the technical report entitled
"NI 43-101 Resource Estimate for the Kena and Daylight Properties"
prepared by Sue Bird, PEng, of Moose Mountain Technical Services, dated May 3, 2021, and filed on SEDAR+ on behalf of West Mining Corp.
A qualified person, as defined by National Instrument 43-101, has not done sufficient work to classify the historical estimate as current mineral resources, and Upside Gold Corp. is not treating the historical estimate as current mineral resources. The historical estimate is provided for information purposes only and should not be relied upon.
Additional drilling and technical work will be required to verify the historical estimate as a current mineral resource. The historical estimate uses the categories set out in Section 1.2 of the NI 43-101. The assumptions used are outlined in Bird 2021 and are provided as follows:
- Resources are reported using the 2014 Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum definition standards and were estimated using the 2019 CIM best practices guidelines.
- Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability.
-
The mineral resource has been confined by "reasonable prospects of eventual economic extraction" pit using the following assumptions: $2,000 (U.S.) per ounce gold at a currency exchange rate of 77 U.S. cents per $1 (Canadian); 99.95 per cent payable Au; $4.30-per-ounce-gold off-site costs (refining, transport and insurance); a 3-per-cent NSR royalty; and uses an 88-per-cent metallurgical recovery for gold.
-
Pit slope angles are assumed at 45 degrees.
- The specific gravity of the deposit has been assigned as 2.8 based on specific gravity measurements in the Kena deposit.
